The idea for The Peaked Lapel came about by a rather circuitous route. Around 10-15 years ago I first heard of something called the Gumball 3000 Rally. I knew little about it but having researched it, I found it presented a seven-day opportunity to experience your car in a way no other event could. On top of that, there are evenings in glamorous hotels and parties. I was hooked and said to myself that, one day, I would take part in it.
