Just how much does the Gumball 3000 cost?

Ferrari F355 Being Serviced

The Gumball 3000 is a world-renowned event, attracting the super wealthy and celebrities, as well as millions of enthusiasts who turn out to see the ‘Gumballers’ in person and online.  Doing a Gumball was one of those bucket list entries I had always hoped to be able to tick off, so entering this year’s Mykonos to Ibiza was, literally, a 15 year dream come true.

It’s also well known to be an expensive event to participate in… but just how expensive is expensive?!

In this video I talk in depth about all the costs associated with participating in the Rally, but thought you might want to see all the base associated costs right before your eyes… so here they are!

A number of these are going to be very subjective. For example, the car preparation prior to and check post Rally will vary wildly depending on what you have done and on which car you’re driving. There will also be some who rent a car for the entire time for a fixed fee. Your insurance and petrol will also depend on this factor too!

There are additional costs that are not strictly necessary so, whilst I have talked about them in the video, I haven’t included them in the table.

As you can see, taking into account the 2019 Gumball 3000 Rally starts with registration on 7 June and ends on 16 June, at a little over £80,000 for nine days, it really does live up to its reputation of being an extremely expensive event!! Having said that, I am also in no doubt it will be a phenomenal experience and more than live up to my expectations… after all, I’ve been wanting to do this for around 15 years… so maybe if I apportion that £80,000 over 15 years instead of nine days, it begins to sound a little more palatable!!
